dc.description.abstractThe poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase (PARP) Tankyrase uses ankyrin repeat modules to capture substrates via Tankyrase-binding peptide motifs. In this issue of Structure, Eisemann et al. (2016) describe how the signaling protein AXIN can access and conformationally adapt the multivalent ankyrin repeat region of Tankyrase and discuss potential implications for enzymatic substrate modification.
